this is our emergency

Unfulfillment is killing you
Seems like no one shares the same view
We may have never met but
It might be you who pulls me through

Some of the people I talk to most, and feel the closest to, live far away - either in other states, or other countries. Some I've met, some I haven't, but you all mean the world to me.

I wish you weren't so far away.

bend and not break

I am fairly agile
I can bend and not break
Or I can break and take it with a smile
And I am so resilient
I recover quickly
I'll convince you soon that I am fine

abandon your life for three months.
just disappear.
leave behind everything that keeps you from creating your masterpiece.

we were meant to be

Dream with your eyes closed
Try and pluck the pearls from your bones

The last two weeks I've mostly listened to Razia's Shadow non-stop. That's exactly what Fueled by Ramen needed, a freaking musical. It's absolutely fantastic.

Featuring guest vocals from Brendon Urie (Panic at the Disco), Greta Salpeter (The Hush Sound), Shawn Harris (The Matches), Dan Young (This Providence), Chris Conley (Say Anything) and Max Bemis (Say Anything), Forgive Durden's latest album is the brainchild of sole remaining member of the band, Thomas Dutton, and was co-written with his brother Paul. With narration throughout the 13-track release, its tells “the story of a world divided in two by the selfish actions of a powerful and egotistical, yet insecure angel. After generations of darkness, the world is eventually brought back together by the love and sacrifice of a couple brave enough to fulfill their destinies.”

It's ambitious, and completely intriguing.

You can buy the album now from the Fueled by Ramen webstore.

you brighten my life

Some days I really wish there was a rewind button, or a reset button, to start the day all over again, to make it different, to cancel out all the shitty parts.

Empires are selling hard copies of Howl, their 'collection of demos' debut album, for $10. They'll throw in two copies, 'to pass along'.

If you've still not heard this band, check their website, where you can download the album for free. You won't regret it.

beginnings.

I fondle keys to my heart
When everyone's heart seems so calm
And you found the lock to my dorm
And opened the door to my trust fund, my vestry

The light in my darkest hour is fear
Denies me of anything good
So don't lose your heart, you'll need it
And don't lose your heart
You'll have to take another pill
And tell another lie
And lie amongst your lies
Like tuna in the brine

Silverchair - Tuna in the Brine

Today I watched the video of Ana's Song (Open Fire) by Silverchair for the first time in years, and I don't know how to describe it, but it hurt in my chest to watch, just to know the story of what was going on behind that song and with Daniel at the time of that record. He looks so lost, it was heartbreaking to watch, all these years later.

I'm not sure what I'll do with this blog, possibly for my ramblings that don't belong on tumblr, hah, we'll have to wait and see.
